Transforms us from Stone Age

into this sophisticated stage

The simple flakes of stone sharpened by Australopethicus;

Now upgraded into nuclear bombs,

an invention which is fastidious

Science brings curiosity among generations

It saves us from many superstitions

The experiments and observations

develop our logical brains

Teaches people to think analytically and creatively

The root of science dated back to Ancient Egyptian and Mesopotamian

The scientific discoveries of Newton, Darwin and Armstrong

All of which bring ease, comfort and luxury to humankind

Science and Technology are intertwined

Technology is the application of science

which helps man conquer diseases, spaces and distances

Technology is the modification of nature

to meet our boundless needs, wants and shortfalls

Cars, trains, airplanes, ships among others

What a wonderful creations make our travel faster and comfortable

Mobiles and Internet

Two great inventions change how we communicate

The invention of harvesting machines, tractors and quality seeds

Helps farmers to have satisfactory yield

Radio, TV and smartphones

Those are major source of entertainment for people

The missiles and nuclear bombs

An inventions which can destroy whole Earth in a split of seconds

Science and Technology result to the human advancement in every spheres

People now can talk and see each other using mobile phones

The society becomes more dependent

In terms of transportation, communication, medicine, agriculture and any other elements

X-rays, Ultrasonography, ECG and Penicillin

Help in diagnosing and treating illnesses—easy and convenient

Million years ago after fire was discovered

There were already irrigations in Nile River

China was known for its compass, gunpowder and paper

Johannes Gutenberg have its own printing press

The Philippines have its Banaue Rice Terraces,

the majestic art product of our mere ancient engineers

Russia and US have placed into Cold War

due to their rivalry in space flights

Today, a small step on Moon is a big leap on Earth

Scientists keep inventing and unravelling

Thanks to the Heliocentric of Copernicus, Evolution of Darwin and Psychoanalysis of Freud

It started the widest exploration of this mysterious world

21st century marks the big boom on Science and Technology

Just think of microprocessors, telecommunications, biotechnology and nanotechnology

All of them are indeed a huge aids to entire humanity

Science, Technology and Society

They are an ally

Thus government shall continue promoting its superiority

Just what Marcos did on its regimen;

He founded PAGASA

Cory Aquino meanwhile established DOST

The Diwata-2 satellite flew under realm of Duterte

People should celebrate every scientific milestones

Aren't you happy discovering water on planet Mars?

Aren't you happy discovering water as fuel?

Aren't you happy formulating vaccines for COVID-19?

Science and Technology bombarded plethora of luxuries to society

However, global warming and pollution worsening everyday

Amid enjoyment, our Mother Earth is ruining

Our environment is degrading

Some people are acting greedily, inhumanely

Exploiting the natural resources

Our dependance to technologies became worst

These should not be the case!

Science and Technology are largesses

If we persist

Abusing and misusing these gifts

Surely, it would be a colossal regrets

Thus, utilize these bountiful products of S and T

Efficiently and ethically

S and T are just started propelling

Be the one who is paddling!

STAINED FILIPINOS

However, we cannot deny the fact that as time passes by we are not already a pure Filipino as other country's stain soiling our whitey identification. Way back Hispanic period up to this contemporary times, our identity which tend to be in unison dramatically ruining. Presently, our fellows are notoriously fond of Korean cultures, for instance. On the way are millennials getting addicted to K-dramas and K-groups. BTS, Blackpink etc. For so many! But are all of these just and right? Are Filipino youth fully mastered the distinction between "ng" and "nang"? How about "raw" and "daw"? Probably, they still struggled on the latter but skilled on the cultures of former. How gloomy!

REMINISCING YOLANDA: THE NIGHTMARE NEVER-TO-BE-FORGOTTEN

Still remembering how I and my family were once battling with “one of the strongest typhoon ever happened on Philippine records" — the Super Typhoon Yolanda (International Name: Haiyan).
